The Racha Regional Museum is the antiquity repository representing the districts of Oni and Ambrolauri. The museum was officially opened on October 12, 1952. Since it’s opening, the museum has been one of the most important sites for local residents and well as visitors. Scientists from different fields, including archeologists, ethnographers, artists, and geologists, have worked hard to support and improve the museum all this time. 14000 unique artifacts belong to the museum collection, from the fields of archeology, ethnography, numismatics, natural history, fine art, historical documents, manuscripts, and printed books. Their historical and cultural value is very important not only regionally but also as a significant part of the Georgian national cultural heritage.
