Visit Gonio Apsar fortress that is located 12 km away from Batumi on the left bank of the river Chorokhi. Fortress Gonio Apsar is the oldest fortress in Georgia. The fortress was built in I-II century AD and served as a stronghold of the Roman and later Byzantine Empire. The total length of the fortress is 900m, wall height is 5 m, height of each of its eighteen towers is 7m. Return to Batumi.
