Georgia's national currency is "Lari” (GEL). Currency exchange in Georgia can be made at banks and exchange offices. Banks work from 9:30 am to 17:30 from Monday to Friday, and Saturday until 14:00. U.S. dollars are also in use. In the big hotels and supermarkets credit cards are accepted - VISA, Eurocard / Mastercard and Cirrus / Maestro. In private shops, hotels and in the province is better to use the cash. Traveler's checks is better to take in dollars or euros. They can be easily exchanged in the banks.
