Alpinism in Georgia «Ascent of Tetnuldi mountain» from Tbilisi
Tbilisi – Kutaisi – Mestia – Jabeshi – Adishi – Ascent of Tetnuldi mountain – Mestia – Kutaisi – Tbilisi (11 days, 10 nights)
Day 1: Tbilisi – Kutaisi
Arrival to Tbilisi. Meeting with the representatives of the agency. Departure to Kutaisi. Hotel accommodation. Overnight.
Day 2: Kutaisi – Mestia
Breakfast. Jeep-tour from Kutaisi to Mestia. On the way to Mestia, we can enjoy the fantastic views of four waterfalls and three mountain peaks of the Caucasus – Ushba, Mazera, Shkhelda. Excursion to the city Mestia. It is included into the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Visit the historic-ethnographical museum, medieval church and the district of fortifications. Hotel accommodation in Mestia. Overnight.
Day 3: Hiking: Mestia – Jabeshi – Adishi
Breakfast. Jeep-tour to Adishi (2040 m.). Hiking through the village Jabeshi – highland of the river Enguri. The location determines its name (translated from Svan – "upper village "; Jabe – the "top "). In Jabeshi there are mineral springs, the main attraction of Svaneti – the towers, the mountain landscapes of stunning beauty, among them: gorge Mulkheri, snowy Summit of Tetnuldi (4858 m.), south slope of Banguriani, summit Komsomol, mountain Ushba and Tviberi range. Return to Adishi Village. Accommodation in a guest house of Adishi. Overnight.
Day 4: Adishi
Breakfast. Adishi at 2121 meter above sea level is one of Europe's highest located mountain villages. Today 6 of the once 60 families that used to live here still remain, but more families and people return during the summer. The mountain village has very much kept its Medieval identity. The village has four churches : the Church of Christ, the Church of the Archangel, and two churches of Saint George. The Church of Christ used once contained icons from the 11th-14th centuries (now stored at a museum), as well as a manuscript of Shatberdi, including detailed artwork, dating back to 897. Overnight.
Day 5: Adishi
Breakfast. Acclimatization. Free day. Overnight.
Day 6: Adishi – Tetnuldi – Adishi
Breakfast. Climbing on the top of Tetnuldi mountain . Ascent and descent takes 10-12 hours.
Mt. Tetnuldi (4858 m) is one of Europe's highest mountains and 48 meters higher than Mont Blanc.The name "Tetnuld" or "Tetnuldi" translates from Svanetian as Wightheared or Blond Mountain, and this name fits very well to the mountain which top has no one black rock spot - it is purely ice and snow.
Climbing Tetnuldi falls under the category of complexity 2B and requires the presence of certain experience, determination and courage. The mountain stands apart from the main mountain massif, it is surrounded by several villages, which facilitates the approach and access to Tetnuldi. Climbing to the top is incredibly picturesque and can be reached by any adult with medium physical training and the initial skills of mountaineering, ready to try to conquer the summit. Tetnuldi offers very interesting iceclimbing possibilities, the normal route to its top is one of the most aesthetic in the area with overwhelming views of Shkhara and all the Bezengi massif as well as all the main Caucasus and Svanetian mountain ranges.

Day 7: Adishi
Breakfast. Free day. Overnight.
Day 8: Adishi – Mestia
Breakfast. Return to Mestia. Free time. Overnight.
Day 9: Mestia – Kutaisi
Breakfast. Departure to Kutaisi. Excursion in the ancient city Kutaisi, that is more than 3 thousand years old. Visit Gelati (XII c.) monastery and academy, established by the great Georgian king – David IV the Builder. Gelati is included into the list of World Heritage sites of UNESCO. Hotel accommodation. Overnight.
Day 10: Kutaisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi
Breakfast. Departure to Tbilisi.
On the way to it visit t he ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta – the town-museum, included into the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. Visit Temple-Monastery Jvari (VI c.). On the top of the mountain where the temple is placed opens a fantastic view of the conjunction of two rivers – Kura and Aragvi. The site has a beautiful view of the ancient capital of Georgia – Mtskheta. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (1010-1029), at the basement of which one of the major Christian relics – Lords Tunic is buried, brought in Georgian by Ellious, Jewish citizen of Mtskheta who witnessed crucifixion. This is the burial place of many Georgian kings too. The pieces of the life-giving pillar is preserved here. Visit Samtavro Monastery, where the blackberry bush grows, flowers and fruits whole year round. St. Nino – the enlightener of IV century – lived and preached nearby. Christianity was adapted as a state religion in 324 on behalf of St. Nino. She was the one who convinced king St. Mirian and queen St. Nana to declare Christianity as a state religion. Wonderworking icon of Iberian Mother of God, wonderworking icon of St. Nino, grave of St. King Mirian and Queen Nana, hallows of St. Abibos Nekreseli, St. Shio Mgvimeli are placed inside.
Arrival to Tbilisi . Excursion in Tbilisi. The capital of Georgia is unique. It is located on the several mountain hills, on which "creep" the old blocks. Tbilisi – is a beautiful river Kura with its picturesque rocky shores, that flows across the whole city. "Old Town" – is the historic center of Tbilisi, that is located at the root of Mtatsminda (Holy Mount) mountain. Almost all of the buildings of the Old Town are historical and cultural sites, this part of the city is round – the – clock full of life, here walk alone or in groups tourists, meet lovers near the Clock Tower. This amuzing Tower appeared here recently, built by the Puppet Theatre director Rezo Gabriadze. Here artists exhibit their paintings, artisans offer numerous souvenirs. Basically here are 2-3 storeyed houses, built of brick and stone, that have a particular Tbilisi architecture, distinguished by narrow streets, galleries and carved wooden balconies.
Tbilisi is one of the rare places in the world, where can peacefully exist in the Old Town orthodox church, catholic cathedra, synagogue and mosque. During the excursion, visit of Metechian Church ( V c.), Narikala fortress ( IV c.), Sioni Cathedral (VI-VII c.), Anchiskhati Basilica of St Mary, the oldest surviving church, Synaxis of Saint Truinity of the temple complex of Tsminda Sameba – the main Cathedral of Georgian Orthodox Church. Walking tour in the city.

Day 11: Tbilisi
Breakfast. Free time for souvenirs buying. Transfer to the airport. Return home.
