    Day 1: Borjomi – Rabat Fortress (60 km)
A grand medieval fortress that embodies the fusion of Christian, Jewish, and Islamic cultures. It features a 17th-century mosque, minaret, and madrasah, alongside Apostolic and Orthodox churches and a historical museum. Restored in 2010, this area is the ancestral home of Charles Aznavour and an ancient center of Catholicism in Georgia. Within the complex, alongside the Orthodox Church of Saint Marina, you will find a mosque, a Catholic church, a Benedictine Sisters' monastery, a synagogue, and an Armenian church.Spanning 7 hectares, the Rabat Fortress is divided into two parts: the Upper (historical) and the Lower (modern) sections.The Upper Fortress houses: The Historical Museum of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Region, located inside the Jakeli ancestral castle, the Mosque of Hajji Ahmed Pasha (Ahmediye), a madrasah and the Pasha’s burial vault, a 9th-century Orthodox church; A citadel and an amphitheater.The Lower Fortress mainly features tourist services: a hotel, a restaurant, two cafe-bars, a wine cellar, brand shops, and a wedding hall.Return to Borjomi.
