«Pheasant's Tears» is established American artist John Vurdemanom who came to Georgia. Once he heard a record of Georgian polyphonic singing, and he was so excited that he went in 1995 to Georgia to study the culture and folklore of the country. He learned the Georgian language, painted from life Alazan picturesque scenery of the valley and in 1996 bought in the village Sighnaghi his own house, in which two years later moved to live permanently. Encouraged by his friend, ethnologist Gela Patalishvili, John bought in 2007 a small vineyard in the village Tibaani and founded the winery "Tears of Pheasant" (according to the ancient Georgian legend, an impeccable wine could make a pheasant cry of joy) - and ambitious John decided to create just such an exceptional wine. He principly only produces natural wines in kvevri without aging in oak, assuming that the barrel as cosmetics, hides the flaws of wine, while the wine aged in kvevri, remind him of the woman's natural beauty. With the support of his friend and companion Eric Andorno and his colleagues, that helped to export wine in Scandinavia and Northern Europe, John provide a range of specific, incomparable organic wines in kvevri, "black", "Saperavi", "amber", "Rkatsitelli" "Kishi" and "Mtsvane" red "Tavkveri" and "Shavkapito" light white "Chinuri."
